In today's modern vehicle, air-conditioning is not anymore an optional accessory but an essential equipment for a basic cabin comfort. Equipped with the heating and ventilation functions it is usually referred as HVAC (Heating Ventilation and Air Conditioning) system.
The request for improving energy-saving, comfort and performance has pushed to adopt for its implementation more and more sophisticated technologies for both the mechanics and electronics components. The new HVAC systems use a microcontroller to process the inputs from a variety of sensors and controlling different types of motors, such as stepper motors for flaps and DC/BLDC blower fan motors.
